Esteban Ortiz is an Associate in the Orange County office of Manning & Kass. He is a member of the Employment, Business Litigation, Intellectual Property, Premises Liability, and Sports, Recreation, and Attractions Law teams.

Mr. Ortiz has managed matters from inception through resolution and has secured favorable outcomes for his clients, including summary judgment victories. His litigation experience includes pleadings, written discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. He is also a graduate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Trial School Program.

Mr. Ortiz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics, with an emphasis in American Politics and a minor in Legal Studies, from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he was named to the Dean’s Academic List. He also earned an Associate Degree from Orange Coast College, where he received the Classified Senate Scholarship and the Jupiter-TOP Scholarship.

Mr. Ortiz received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was awarded the Zief Scholarship, the Blum Foundation Scholarship, and the Pro Bono Gold Award. During law school, he served as President of the American Constitutional Society and Vice President of the Latinx Law Students Association. He also competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Manning & Kass, Mr. Ortiz gained experience in litigation, employment, and business law through his work at law firms and government entities. He also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Charles Wilson of the Santa Clara County Superior Court.

Mr. Ortiz is admitted to practice in California. He is fluent in Spanish and is the author of “Educational Adequacy, Educational Equality: A Conjunction for the Future,” published in the ASU Social Justice Journal in January 2024.
