Deann R. Rivard is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Governmental Entity Liability team. 

She was born and raised as the youngest of three in Southern California. Growing up she was a member of her junior high school speech team, competed on her junior high school and high school tennis teams, and was a member of the Los Alamitos High School Academic Decathlon team that placed second statewide.

After attending and graduating from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Ms. Rivard worked in politics, healthcare marketing, and business finance. While working on a political campaign in Santa Barbara, she enrolled in a city college Evidence For Police class being taught by a Santa Barbara County prosecutor, changing the course of her life. Soon thereafter she applied to and attended Whittier Law School, planning all the while to become a police officer.

After taking and passing the California Bar Exam, she became a Los Angeles Police Department police officer. Later on, she become a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. She was a member of the Justice System Integrity Division (JSID) from January 2019-2021.  She retired from that work in June 2021 and joined Manning Kass in August 2021.

  • Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office from 2005-2021
  • Admission to practice to the Central and Eastern District Courts of California (Federal)
