Emily C. Edwards is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. She is the leader of the Military and Veterans Law team, and a member of the Workers' Compensation team.

Prior to joining Manning Kass, Ms. Edwards practiced workers’ compensation defense at a respected workers’ compensation defense firm in Los Angeles. She has experience representing insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense.

Ms. Edwards frequently participates in client trainings regarding best practices for handling and mitigating exposure for workers' compensation and employment claims. She also conducts webinar presentations and presents at conferences throughout the country regarding all aspects of California Workers’ Compensation law. Ms. Edwards utilizes these trainings to ensure that insurance carriers, employers, and public entities are informed regarding relevant case law and reforms which may affect their business practices and claims management strategies.

Ms. Edwards is admitted to the California Bar after graduating cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law with a certificate from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. During her law school career, Ms. Edwards served as an editor for the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary Journal and published an article regarding the initiation of the Rigs to Reef Project in California. She also participated in the school’s International Program in London, was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, and her academic achievements placed her on the Dean’s Honor List. During law school, Ms. Edwards also gained experience as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Flurer in the California Superior Court, and as a law clerk for the District Attorney’s Organized Crime Division.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Edwards studied Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated magna cum laude.
