Lalo Garcia is a Partner in the San Francisco office of Manning Kass. He is a member of the Workers' Compensation team.

Mr. Garcia deals with all aspects of workers' compensation, including defense of serious and willful misconduct, Labor Code 132(a) and serious and willful petitions. In addition, Mr. Garcia handles subrogation matters on behalf of the firm's clients. Since joining Manning Kass, Mr. Garcia has tried cases on numerous issues, including AOE/COE, apportionment, contribution, and third-party credit.

Mr. Garcia received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law . While at Berkeley, he served as chair of the Undergraduate Political Science Association and a member of the Honor Student Society. During law school, Mr. Garcia served as assistant director for the Moot Court Board and articles editor for the Oregon Review of International Law, a student journal which addresses current legal topics in international law and policy. He was a selected participant in the school's Small Business Clinic, and notably, was a national qualifier in 2007 during his participation in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Garcia worked as associate counsel to a food manufacturing company in the bay area, where he dealt mainly with labor and employment issues related to sexual harassment and wage and hour regulations in addition to food law under the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked at an applicants workers' compensation firm in Oakland where he litigated workers' compensation cases, 132(a) claims, and serious and willful actions.

Mr. Garcia is on the board of directors for the Smart Cookie Scholarship Program, which helps first generation immigrants attain college and graduate degrees. Mr. Garcia is fluent in Spanish.
