Amanda Wilbur is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Complex Litigation team.

She has extensive experience handling complex civil litigation with an emphasis on high-exposure personal injury matters. She represents insureds and insurance carriers in matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, automobile liability, premises liability, and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims.

Ms. Wilbur regularly handles matters involving complex medical injuries and treatment, including spinal cord stimulators, structural spine surgeries and traumatic brain injuries. She has particular experience evaluating and defending TBI claims and the medical, causation and damages issues associated with those claims. She also regularly presents seminars regarding the evaluation and defense of traumatic brain injury claims and other important issues regarding the defense of high exposure claims.

A significant portion of Ms. Wilbur’s practice is devoted to serving as monitoring counsel for excess insurers in complex, high-exposure litigation. She works closely with claims professionals and defense counsel to independently evaluate liability, damages, defense themes, case valuation and overall exposure. Her role extends beyond reporting on the status of the underlying litigation. She identifies issues requiring further development, evaluates whether the defense strategy appropriately addresses the carrier’s exposure, and works with defense counsel to develop the case toward meaningful settlement negotiations, mediation or trial.

In addition to her monitoring practice, Ms. Wilbur maintains an active litigation practice representing insureds directly. Throughout her practice, she has represented both businesses and individuals in civil litigation matters within California Superior Courts and the California Court of Appeals. She handles cases from initial assignment through resolution or trial preparation. Her experience as defense counsel informs her monitoring practice and provides her with a practical understanding of the decisions, strategy, and challenges involved in the day-to-day defense of complex litigation.

Ms. Wilbur was selected to the 2026 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.

Ms. Wilbur earned her Juris Doctor from Chapman Dale E. Fowler School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from California State University, Northridge.
