Holly A. Graves is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Complex Litigation team.
She has extensive experience handling complex civil litigation with an emphasis on high-exposure personal injury matters. Ms. Graves represents insureds and insurance carriers in matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, automobile liability, premises liability, and and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims.
A significant portion of Ms. Graves’ practice is devoted to serving as monitoring counsel for excess insurers in complex, high-exposure litigation. She works closely with claims professionals and defense counsel to independently evaluate liability, damages, defense themes, case valuation, and overall exposure. Her roll extends beyond reporting on the status of underlying litigation. She identifies issues requiring further development, evaluates whether the defense strategy appropriately addresses the carrier’s exposure and works with defense counsel to develop the case toward meaningful settlement negotiations, mediation, and trial.
Ms. Graves has substantial experience in managing cases from inception through resolution and is a skilled legal strategist. Her investigative approach combines detailed factual development with strategic procedural advocacy to position matters for early resolution when appropriate. Ms. Graves’ extensive experience as defense counsel informs her monitoring practice and providers her with a practical understanding of the decisions, strategy, and challenges in the defense of complex litigation.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Graves worked as a civil defense attorney in San Francisco, California, where she defended individual and entity insureds in landlord-tenant, land use dispute, real property damage, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, automobile liability, premises liability, and and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims.
Ms. Graves earned her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ohio Northern University.
