Angela Powell to Receive the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law Distinguished Alumna Award

Los Angeles Partner Angela M. Powell, who practices on Manning & Kass’ Government Entity Liability Team, joined the teaching faculty of the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law ("SOL") as an adjunct professor for this year’s Spring semester. She taught an advanced course on law enforcement and civil rights claims. Ms. Powell earned her law degree at the Caruso SOL and has remained active with the School in the years since. She is also member of the Board of Advisors for the Caruso SOL. Ms. Powell and the firm hosted the SOL's inaugural diversity mixer for students and alumni at the firm's Los Angeles office in the fall of 2019.

In recognition for her continued contributions and community involvement, she will receive the Distinguished Alumna award at this year’s Caruso School of Law Commencement for the Class of 2021.

In her work for Manning & Kass, Ms. Powell represents and counsels governmental entities, public entities and individual police officers in civil rights actions. She has tried more than 60 cases in her 20-year career and has established herself as a tenacious attorney with a proven ability to obtain favorable results for her clients. Ms. Powell began her career as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, where she prosecuted hundreds of violent crimes, including robbery, kidnapping and capital murder.
