Firm Founder Anthony J. Ellrod Featured in California Clubs of Distinction's Magazine

As a non-profit trade association, California Clubs of Distinction, or CCD's goal is to promote responsible growth of the California club industry and to enhance the professionalism, effectiveness and profitability of its members through networking, education and positive legislative action. The organization publishes the CCD News Update on a quarterly basis, with the Second Quarter of 2015 featuring a prominent article by firm founder Anthony J. Ellrod, entitled, "Marketing Yourself Out of Business."

Mr. Ellrod's article gives a brief overview of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and how club owners need to be careful to comply with the law during marketing campaigns. This law impacts how clubs contact prospects who toured the facility on a guest pass, existing club members, leads, and cold calls.

Mr. Ellrod presently heads the firm's Business Litigation; Corporate and Commercial Transactions; Intellectual Property; and Sports, Recreation, and Attractions Law Teams. He developed an expertise in sports, recreation, and attractions law early in his career, and is nationally regarded as one of the leading experts in sports and recreation law. Mr. Ellrod is a 6th degree black belt in Yoshukai karate and presently acts as assistant West Coast director of the World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization.
