Gene W. Lee Secures "Take Nothing" for California Temporary Staffing Agency in Workers' Compensation Claim

In March of 2015, Orange County Manning & Kass associate Gene Lee secured a "take nothing" Finding and Order for the firm's client, one of the largest temporary staffing employers in California. The applicant, a forklift operator, filed a workers' compensation claim after he had been terminated, stating that he had been injured on the job. Testimony of a key witness which contradicted the applicant’s story was difficult to obtain due to the witness's fear of retaliation by the applicant. Ultimately, however, Mr. Lee persuaded the witness to come forward, and the defendant prevailed after a short and cost-effective one day trial.
