Manning & Kass Promotes Two To Partnership

Manning & Kass is proud to announce the promotion to partner of Lynn L. Carpenter in the Los Angeles office and Paul O. Mittelstadt in the Phoenix office. With these promotions, the total number of partners comes to 59 across its seven offices.

Founding Partner Eugene P. Ramirez expressed the following, “We are so proud that Lynn is now a member of our partnership. She has worked hard for this promotion. She has second chaired two jury trials and both were defense verdicts for a public entity. She has provided training for public entities and her presentations have been extremely well received. We look forward to more great things from Lynn.”

“Paul Mittlestadt has been a vital part of the Arizona office since he began as an associate,” said Phoenix Managing Partner Robert B. Zelms. “He has mentored the younger associates and is always more than willing to take on the most challenging cases without complaint.”

Mr. Mittelstadt was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and moved to Arizona for undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, graduating in 2008. Paul attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, graduating magna cum laude. While in school, Mr. Mittelstadt served as the chief articles editor of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review and an executive member and competitor in the school’s Moot Court Honor Society. Mr. Mittelstadt was also selected as an extern for Magistrate Judges Ruben Brooks and Jan Adler of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Carpenter was an assistant district attorney in Payne County, Oklahoma where her work as lead or co-counsel resulted in the successful prosecution of complex felony assault trials including child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. As an assistant district attorney, Ms. Carpenter developed special training protocols in conjunction with law enforcement professionals for evidence gathering and trial preparation. As an ardent advocate of victim’s rights, Ms. Carpenter was keenly responsive to victims who were in the unfamiliar, and often hostile, courtroom environment. As a standout for victim’s advocacy, she was awarded the Be The One Award for child abuse prosecution in 2015.
