Roland Tong To Present At The Combined Claims Conference

Orange County Partner Roland Tong is scheduled to lead an educational session on March 3^rd at the 32^nd Annual Combined Claims Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Orange County, CA. The presentation, titled “Trademark and Copyright Infringement Claims: What You Need To Know,” will cover the uptick in copyright infringement case filings, more specifically, what is causing the uptick and why it is even more important to look at insurance policies for coverage or why this may cause a spike in insurance coverage litigation. He will also discuss where coverage may be found for intellectual property cases, the types of damages that can be recovered, and the most commonly litigated issues in insurance coverage litigation dealing with IP cases.

Mr. Tong has over a decade of experience in IP litigation and Patent Prosecution. Having worked as a partner and shareholder at large and mid-size law firms, he has represented companies, such as Ford Motor Company, Oracle, and Lear, in obtaining their US and international patents. Mr. Tong has conducted numerous trademark clearance and patent novelty searches, and has rendered many patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and infringement opinions.
