Fred Trester to Speak at DRI's Professional Liability Seminar

DRI, "The Voice of the Defense Bar," is the international membership organization of all lawyers involved in the defense of civil litigation. DRI will hold its annual Professional Liability Seminar December 3-4, 2015, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. DRI was founded in 1960 as the "Defense Research Institute."

This seminar is targeted toward attorneys who defend professionals against malpractice claims, as well as members of the insurance industry. Manning & Kass named partner, Fredric W. Trester, will speak on the first morning of the seminar; Thursday, December 3;  during a plenary session entitled, "Liability Concerns for Brokers, Real Estate Agents, and Other Professionals When Working with 'Hard Money' Lenders." This session examines non-conventional / post-recession lending practices, from "risk and exposure to standards of care and duties."

Other sessions will include hot topics such as liability issues related to the use of drones in engineering, cyber breach damages, claims against financial professionals, and social media usage in litigation.

Mr. Trester has represented professionals—including lawyers, real estate brokers, escrow agents, insurance agents, architects and engineers—in litigation, for more than three decades, and has also handled entertainment law and trust and estates matters. He has tried numerous cases to verdict or judgment with a success rate higher than 90 percent. Mr. Trester is well known in the real estate brokerage community as a “go to” attorney for high end real estate related litigation.
