Andrew T. Magaline is a Partner at Manning Kass in the San Francisco Office. He is a member of the Government Entity Liability team.
Mr. Magaline received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Babson College, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Mr. Magaline received his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and received several awards for his accomplishments. Mr. Magaline received his LLM in Taxation from Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles.
After passing the bar, Mr. Magaline spent 13 months honing his trial skills as a volunteer public defender in Marin County. Upon leaving the public defender, Mr. Magaline practiced tax law for a boutique CPA firm running the tax controversy department representing individual and business taxpayers in IRS Audits, and in United States Tax Court. In several high stakes USTC matters, Mr. Magaline saved his clients in excess of $50 million in wrongful tax assessments. Shortly before the pandemic, Mr. Magaline transitioned to employment litigation, representing both employees and employers in discrimination and wage and hour class actions and PAGA representative actions.
Mr. Magaline is admitted to practice and has a proven track record litigating employment and 42 USC § 1983 matters in California State superior Courts, the United States District Courts for Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California, and in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
