Ari Markow is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass and a member of the firm’s Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial Transactions, and Construction Law teams.

Mr. Markow focuses his practice on real estate brokerage and escrow industry defense, professional liability litigation, commercial real estate transactions and outside general counsel services for real estate businesses. He represents commercial property owners, investors, developers, brokers, agents, lenders, and escrow companies in a wide range of transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters.

A significant portion of Mr. Markow’s practice is devoted to the defense of real estate brokers, agents, brokerages, and escrow companies in professional liability, negligence, disclosure, fiduciary duty, and compliance-related claims. He regularly serves as outside general counsel to both national and regional real estate brokerages, advising on regulatory compliance, risk management, transactional disputes, internal policies, and litigation avoidance strategies.

His transactional practice includes representing clients in the acquisition, sale, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate assets. Mr. Markow has assisted clients in transactions involving commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, and secured lending matters. He also advises clients on landlord-tenant issues, contract negotiations, risk allocation, and operational matters relating to commercial property ownership and management.

In addition, Mr. Markow represents escrow companies in matters involving regulatory compliance, licensing issues, operational disputes, and professional liability claims. He has successfully defended numerous lawsuits involving allegations of professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and related business torts arising from real estate and escrow transactions.

Mr. Markow is also a frequent guest lecturer and presenter for real estate brokerages and escrow companies on topics including risk management, compliance, professional liability exposure, and best practices for reducing litigation risk in real estate transactions.

In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Markow has experience handling complex business and commercial litigation matters, including disputes involving financial institutions, secured transactions, lending practices, trade secret claims, intellectual property, and construction law.

Mr. Markow received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he concentrated his studies in business and securities law and was a Moot Court competition finalist. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. He also served as a staff intern to State Senator Ed Davis.

Mr. Markow serves as pro bono general counsel for A Walk On Water (AWOW), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing relief to families of children with special needs through surf therapy.
