Geoffrey R. Plowden is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. He is a member of the Governmental Entity Liability team.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Plowden worked for 22 years as senior trial counsel for the Los Angeles Police Department, serving as a deputy city attorney with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. He tried a large number of high-profile and complex cases in both the Los Angeles Superior Courts and the United States District Courts. He has lectured at seminars in the areas of law enforcement and municipal liability. Before working at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, Mr. Plowden worked six years in insurance defense, with an emphasis in catastrophic personal injury and fraudulent claims. He started his legal career with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, working a variety of felony and misdemeanor trial assignments.

Mr. Plowden earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. While in school, Mr. Plowden clerked at the Burbank City Attorney's Office, where he tried 44 court trials in 8 weeks. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In his free time, Mr. Plowden enjoys wine tasting, music, and weddings, and is an ordained minister, DJ, and certified expert in wine.
