Melissa Corona is an Associate at the Los Angeles office at Manning Kass. She is a member of the Complex Litigation and the Special Investigations Unit / Insurance Fraud Litigation teams.

Melissa’s practice focuses on complex civil disputes, including insurance fraud investigations and SIU matters. She also has experience in breach of contract matters, construction defect, employment claims, product liability, landlord-tenant disputes, and personal injury defense in state and federal court. She works closely with carriers and corporate clients to evaluate risk exposure, identify potential fraud indicators, and develop strategic litigation plans from pre-suit investigation through trial preparation.

She has substantial experience managing cases from inception through resolution, and is a skilled legal strategist. Her investigative approach combines detailed factual development with strategic procedural advocacy to position matters for early resolution when appropriate. Within the Special Investigations Unit, Melissa assists in analyzing claims for material misrepresentation, staged losses, and other fraudulent activity.

Melissa is fluent in Spanish and conducts client and witness interviews in both Spanish and English.

During law school, Melissa served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Peter C. Lewis of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Melissa earned her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she received the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship and the CALI Award (highest grade) in Selected Issues in Dispute Resolution. She served as an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and earned a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. She received her B.S., cum laude, in Legal Studies from St. John’s University, where she was a Division I student-athlete in fencing.
 
Melissa has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers (2026). She is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California.
