R. Adam Ellison is a Partner in the Dallas office of Manning Kass. He is a member of the Workers' Compensation team.

Mr. Ellison's practice consists of defense of insurance companies, adjusting agencies, third-party administrators, and employers in all aspects of workers' compensation claims. Mr. Ellison has successfully represented his clients at every stage of litigation, including trials, expedited hearings, mediations, and expert depositions. He frequently represents employers in Labor Code Section 132a discrimination and serious willful misconduct cases.

Among other successful trial results, Mr. Ellison successfully defended a multi-million dollar death case at trial and at the appellate level. He has handled an extensive number of medical lien cases and has prevailed with “take nothing” verdicts at trial. In an advisory capacity, he also facilitates global settlement negotiations between clients and medical corporations.

Mr. Ellison has published articles on current topics and changes in the law including the Almaraz/Guzman and Ogilvie decisions. He is active in organizing comprehensive claim reviews with clients to promote a collaborative approach to claim handling and resolution. In addition, he regularly conducts presentations on a variety of topics, including legal updates, AMA Guides Rating, and complex claims management.

His work has garnered him recognition as a 2009 and 2011–2012 Super Lawyer Rising Star. This distinction is limited to only 2.5% of attorneys in the state of California.

Mr. Ellison obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religious Studies from the University of Vermont, where he was a member of the men's varsity soccer team. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Ellison clerked for the Federal Public Defender Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the State of Louisiana's Attorney General's Office.

Away from the office, Mr. Ellison enjoys spending time with his wife Lena and their two Shetland sheepdogs, Addie and Bella. He is an alleged single-digit handicap golfer, an avid soccer player, a San Francisco 49er season ticket holder, and, having been born in Knoxville, a lifelong Tennessee Volunteer fan.
