R. Drake Herring is an Associate in the New York office of Manning Kass. He is a member of the Special Investigations Unit / Insurance Fraud Litigation team.
Mr. Herring received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. Mr. Herring received his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. He served as the inaugural Publications Editor for the University of Richmond Law Review. During law school, Mr. Herring was also a member of the University of Richmond Moot Court Board, the University of Richmond Trial Advocacy Board, and the University of Richmond Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. During the summer of 2022, Mr. Herring served as a Judicial Intern for Chief Judge Marla Graff Decker of the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Herring worked as an Associate Attorney in a boutique insurance defense firm in New York City. His caseload focused on a wide variety of claims, including negligence, negligent hiring, and supervision; 42 U.S.C. § 1983; and state and federal constitutional law claims. Mr. Herring was also responsible for drafting the appellate briefs for over twenty appeals during his time with that law firm.
Mr. Herring is a member of the New York State Bar. He is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
