Shanna M. Van Wagner is a Partner in the San Diego office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Catastrophic Liability Defense, Class Action and Mass Torts Defense, Complex Litigation, Insurance Coverage / Bad Faith, Landlord / Tenant / Habitability, Premises Liability, Product Liability, Sports, Recreation, and Attractions Law, and Trucking and Transportation teams. 

Ms. Van Wagner received her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a double minor in Biology and Chemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She participated in the Honors program, Baylor Interdisciplinary Core; is a member of TriBeta; and was on the Dean’s List for the College of Arts and Sciences. Following graduation, she earned her Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego. She then spent nearly ten years as a paralegal at a Construction Defect defense firm in San Diego.

Ms. Van Wagner received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law. She was the Lead Articles Editor for the University of San Diego International Law Journal. She earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing. Throughout law school, she participated in the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Project and served as the HIV/AIDS Clinic Chair for the University of San Diego Pro Bono Legal Advocates. 

Before joining the firm, Ms. Van Wagner worked as an insurance defense attorney in San Diego for a mid-size firm, representing Defendants throughout the state of California.  She has extensive experience in the defense of property damage and bodily injury claims arising from alleged exposure to carbon monoxide, liquid nitrogen, silica, mold, and PFAs, as well as other environmental contaminants.  She also has experience in general liability matters, insurance fraud, personal injury, wrongful death, and habitational claims. Her practice also includes the defense of state and federal class action lawsuits. 

Ms. Van Wagner is admitted to State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California.
