Sophia M. Urrutia is an Associate at the New York office at Manning Kass. She is a member of the Special Investigations Unit / Insurance Fraud Litigation team.

Ms. Urrutia received her Dual Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from the State University of New York at New Paltz. While at New Paltz, she was the captain of the Varsity Field Hockey Team and was named Distinguished Senior in Student Affairs. Ms. Urrutia received her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School, where she was named a member of The Order of Barristers. She was a Head Coach for the Tulane Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and Hispanic National Bar Association Appellate Advocacy Team. 

Ms. Urrutia held internships in the Unites States District Court, Eastern District of New York, New York City Civil Court, National Football League Players Association (“NFLPA”), and National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”). 

Before joining the firm, Ms. Urrutia worked as a Litigation Associate at a Long Island law firm, specializing in Special Investigations and Insurance Fraud Litigation. She managed a variety of cases throughout all stages of Arbitration and Civil Litigation, specifically regarding staged motor vehicle incidents. 

Ms. Urrutia is admitted to the New York State Bar.
