Spencer R. Gilbert is an Associate in the New York office of Manning Kass. He is a member of the Special Investigations Unit / Insurance Fraud Litigation team.

Mr. Gilbert received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Binghamton. He was a member of the Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement and took part in the Johnson City Mentorship Program. Mr. Gilbert received his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic and was also a commentator of the New York Real Estate Law Reporter. 

Mr. Gilbert was a judicial extern in the New York State Supreme Court, Nassau County, for the Honorable Diccia T. Pineda-Kirwan. He also externed at a boutique civil litigation firm, where he helped draft motions related to personal injury actions. 

Before joining the firm, Mr. Gilbert worked as a Property Tax attorney, managing over 150 cases dealing with a variety of issues related to property tax and frequently appearing in Nassau County District Court. He then worked as an insurance defense associate and managed over 70 cases related to a wide variety of fields including negligence, medical malpractice, fraud, conspiracy, and unjust enrichment, to name a few.

Mr. Gilbert is admitted to the New York State Bar.
