Wanjiku “Kazi” Mbugua is an Associate in the San Francisco office at Manning Kass. She is a member of the Premises Liability team.

Ms. Mbugua received her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, with a minor in Political Science, from University of California, Santa Cruz and her Juris Doctor from University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. While attending law school, she focused on entertainment law and was the recipient of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association scholarship award for her efforts supporting artists in establishing publishing royalties and managing their catalogs and performances. She also participated in legal clinics involving housing and community development.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Mbugua practiced as an insurance defense attorney. Her experience includes handling matters involving tenant eviction defense, employment law, premises liability, and general civil litigation.
