Çagil Arel is an Associate in the San Francisco office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Business Litigation, Construction Law, Intellectual Property, and Professional Liability teams.

Ms. Arel’s practice primarily involves general business litigation. Having represented clients in a broad variety of commercial matters, she handles cases involving complex corporate litigation, shareholder disputes, construction defects, professional liability claims, and securities transactions. Before she joined the firm, Ms. Arel practiced as a business lawyer in small to mid-size firms, where she managed high-stakes litigation and transactional matters involving entertainment law, executive compensation, trusts and estates, international commerce, corporate finance, and securitization. She also has an extensive background in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation. 

Originally from Istanbul, Ms. Arel graduated summa cum laude from Hacettepe University, a top-ranked state university in Ankara, Turkey. She received her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco with a specialization in Intellectual Property, and completed her clerkship with the antitrust division of a Vault 100 law firm in Paris, France. She is fluent in French and Turkish. 

Ms. Arel is admitted to the State Bar of California and before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California. She is currently pursuing her Master of Laws in Transnational Business Practice at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
