Construction Law Team Secures $1.26 Million Settlement

Our Construction Law team, led by Orange County Partner Sean Dowsing, recently secured a $1.26 million settlement on behalf of our client. Our client was contracted to replace water mains and sewer lines in Mission Beach, but encountered twice the number of underground utilities than were displayed in the design documents. This led to the project taking several months longer than projected. Our team was able to recover $1.26 million after proving the damages caused by the delay through a measured mile analysis, a method for measuring the impact of disruptions on a construction project.

Mr. Dowsing is the leader of the Construction Law and Subrogation and Recovery teams, and a member of the Construction Defect, Land Use, and Professional Liability teams. His litigation practice includes defects, breach of contract, changed conditions, delays, subrogation, and professional liability. He also represents employers in Cal/OSHA investigations and proceedings.
