For Ms. Edwards, two words in particular summarize what she has learned throughout the pandemic, “communication” and “creativity.” “With communication, I would say it’s extremely important that the employer, the adjuster, and attorney are all working together to make sure not only that you’re on the same page, but you’re aggressively moving these cases forward.” “In terms of creativity, I'm primarily talking about the investigation process.” Scouring social media and utilizing technology have proven to be valuable tools for comp defense firms when investigating and conducting discovery on claims.

Ms. Edwards frequently participates in client trainings regarding best practices for handling and mitigating exposure for workers' compensation and employment claims. She also conducts webinar presentations and presents at conferences throughout the country regarding all aspects of California Workers’ Compensation law. Ms. Edwards utilizes these trainings to ensure that insurance carriers, employers, and public entities are informed regarding relevant case law and reforms which may affect their business practices and claims management strategies.
