Eugene Ramirez Appointed to Newly Created Public Safety Commission for the City of San Marino

Founding Partner Eugene Ramirez has been appointed to a four-year term on the newly created Public Safety Commission of San Marino. This commission, formally created by the City Council at its Feb. 14 meeting, will primarily concern itself with analyzing the city’s needs as it relates to providing assistance to law enforcement, fire response and emergency services.

The creation of the Public Safety Commission was one of Mayor Steve Talt’s highlighted goals when he was selected as mayor. Last year’s City Council election focused on candidates’ ideas for combating crime in San Marino, particularly residential and commercial burglaries.

Mr. Ramirez has been profiled in the California Lawyer Magazine for his law enforcement defense work, and been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS). He was selected as the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department’s Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1993 and 2006, by two different Sheriffs, and is frequently invited to speak to law enforcement agencies across the United States on use of force, handling high profile cases and risk management issues. Mr. Ramirez has also been named to the distinguished American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an award only bestowed upon proven trial attorneys.
