John D. Marino is a Partner in the San Diego office of Manning Kass. He is the leader of the Construction Defect team.

His areas of concentration include professional liability (particularly, the defense of architects, engineers, and accountants), construction defect, trucking and transportation, personal injury, and insurance litigation.

Mr. Marino is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association, and the American Inns of Court. He holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell and serves as Judge Pro Tem in the San Diego Municipal Court.

Mr. Marino is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national organization of civil trial attorneys, which requires the completion of 20 civil jury trials to verdict as lead counsel. Admission to membership is by vote of chapter members and approval of the National Board.

Mr. Marino has authored articles for the firm’s Construction Defect Newsletter and for Builder and Developer Magazine. He has also presented at various seminars, including West Coast Casualty’s Construction Defect Seminar.

Mr. Marino is admitted to the California Bar. Mr. Marino graduated from the University of California, Irvine, and the University of San Diego School of Law.
