David V. Roth is an Equity Partner in the San Francisco office of Manning Kass. He is the Chair of the Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality Litigation team, handling Catastrophic Liability matters. Additionally, he is the Leader of the ADA Compliance Litigation team, and a member of the Business Litigation and Product Liability teams.

He proudly leads a diverse multi-lingual team throughout the State of California advising and representing clients directly and through insurance carriers in a wide range of matters including Catastrophic Liability, Premises Liability, Transportation, Product Liability, Business Litigation, OSHA investigations, and ADA Compliance.

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Roth has tried over 25 trials to verdict, including numerous catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases throughout the state. Mr. Roth currently serves as Coordinating Counsel for multiple Fortune 500 companies in California.

Mr. Roth brings a unique approach to litigation, anchored by professionalism, integrity, and a relentless dedication to fighting for his client’s rights through trial. He is frequently sought after as the go-to guy in an emergency when a client’s name, reputation, and business is at risk in high-profile, media-exposed litigation.

Given his expertise, he is regularly invited to lecture throughout the country on topics such as Traumatic Brain Injuries, Avoiding Big Verdicts, Next Generation Voir Dire, Professionalism and Civility in the Legal Profession, and Preparing the Next Generation of Attorneys. Mr. Roth has received many accolades in his career, including consistent recognition as a Northern California Super Lawyer (2015-2020, 2022, 2024-2026).

He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, and has the distinct honor of admission to the United States Supreme Court.  He has been admitted pro hac vice in federal and state courts of Hawaii (including Maui), as well as in  Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, and Washington.

Prior to joining Manning Kass, Mr. Roth was the Founding Partner of a boutique litigation firm that comprised of partners from other AmLaw 100 firms representing corporations and individuals in high-stakes business litigation and catastrophic injury cases. He is often recognized by both sides of the bar as a trustworthy, but tough, no-nonsense litigator and trial attorney. 

Mr. Roth spends his time away from the office volunteering for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is an avid fan of the Raiders, San Francisco Giants, Warriors, and Arsenal Gunners.  

Mr. Roth graduated from the Golden Gate University School of Law with a Juris Doctor and the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts.
