Trisha E. Newman is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning Kass. She is a member of the Appellate Law (Strategy, Writs, & Appeals) team. 

Ms. Newman advises on corporate and privacy law, which includes CCPA and GDPR compliance. She represents a variety of small businesses and sports companies as general counsel, with a focus on tax-exempt organizations. Ms. Newman’s representation includes both transactions and litigation, including appellate matters in both state and federal courts.

Ms. Newman started as a deputy public defender in Los Angeles County. She later formed her own solo practice, centered on appointed criminal defense appeals and helping small businesses with corporate formation and compliance. Ms. Newman has appeared in various appellate courts throughout Southern California, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Newman received her Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Los Angeles and Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law. She is admitted to the Texas and California Supreme Courts, Central District of California, Fifth and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2023, she passed the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States test and received her CIPP/US certification.

Ms. Newman is a member of the Sports Lawyer's Association, where she is Chair of the Women’s Affinity Group, and is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
